Scott Brown Endorses Geoff Diehl
October 24, 2022
Former Massachusetts U.S. Senator Scott Brown is backing the Republican in the race for governor of Massachusetts.
Brown, a former Massachusetts politician who most recently ran in New Hampshire, endorsed former state representative Geoff Diehl (R-Whitman) over Democratic attorney general Maura Healey last week.
“I’ve known Geoff Diehl for 15 years. Geoff is a good man, and he’s a hard worker. When he gives you his word, it’s gold,” Brown said in a video. “Geoff is the person you need right now on Beacon Hill to rein in the spending, rein in the out-of-control policies and laws that are being pushed by the Democrats up there. I mean, it’s upside-down.”
Brown served as a U.S. senator for Massachusetts from 2010 to 2013, and as a state senator before that.
Brown is the highest-ranking Massachusetts elected official, past or present, to endorse Diehl. Governor Charlie Baker hasn’t endorsed a candidate in this race.
