Someone Sprays Pepper-Like Irritant At Prom, Sending Three To Hospital

A high school prom in Connecticut ended not with a whimper but with a bang when someone sprayed an irritant into the air that sent dancers fleeing and three students to the hospital.

The incident happened about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, May 25, during the Stonington High School prom in Groton, Connecticut, according to The Day of New London.

The students were treated and released with no apparent lingering effects, authorities said.

No one had been identified as the culprit as of Sunday, May 26, according to The Day, but a police investigation is taking place.
