Supporters of Driver’s Licenses For Illegal Immigrants in Massachusetts Outraising Opponents 12 To 1

November 5, 2022

Supporters of the law allowing illegal immigrants to get driver’s licenses had outraised opponents 12 to 1 through October 15, the most recent filing date of receipts and expenditures.

Through October 15, Fair and Secure Massachusetts, which opposes driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants and is campaigning for a No vote on Question 4, had raised $167,805.91, according to the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance.

Meanwhile, Vote YES for Work and Family Mobility as of October 15 had raised $2,058,572.01, according to the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance.

In June 2022, the Democrat-dominated state legislature enacted a law that would allow illegal immigrants to get driver’s licenses starting on July 1, 2023, over the veto of the governor, Charlie Baker, a Republican.

Question 4 on the state general election ballot Tuesday, November 8 asks voters if they want to keep the law or repeal it. A Yes vote keeps the law; a No vote repeals it.
