Tornado Hits Woods Hole

A waterspout in Vineyard Sound came ashore in Woods Hole on Monday morning, felling some trees.

The tornado caused a gust measured at 65 miles an hour. It knocked out power and damaged chairs and other items outdoors, but caused no injuries.

Woods Hole is a seaside village of the town of Falmouth on Cape Cod. Vineyard Sound is a body of water between Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard.
