Traffic at Stop & Shop Down 75 Percent During Strike, Report Finds

A report from a company that tracks anonymous cell phone data found that Stop & Shop is got 75 percent less traffic from frequent customers of the supermarket last weekend than the previous weekend, which was before the strike occurred.

The report, from a company called Skyhook, found that between Friday, April 12 and Sunday, April 14, Hannaford saw a 300 percent increase in foot traffic, Market Basket a 115 percent increase, Trader Joe's and Shaw's a 75 percent increase, and Star Market a 50 percent increase – all from ordinarily loyal Stop & Shop customers, according to the Fall River Herald News.

The Greenfield Public Library is planning to host a drag queen telling stories to elementary school children on Saturday morning, as part of a monthly series of appearances there.

This month's appearance is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20.
