Wake and Funeral Set for Fallen Yarmouth Police Officer

Funeral arrangements have been set for a police officer in Yarmouth, Massachusetts whom police say was shot to death last week by a career criminal who had violated his probation.

Sean Gannon, 32, was shot in the head and killed Thursday, April 12 while attempting to serve a warrant on a 29-year-old man at a home in Marstons Mills.

He had served as police officer in Yarmouth for eight years, most of that time working with a police dog. The dog was also shot in the incident, but is recovering.

A wake for Gannon is scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 17 at St. Pius X Church at 5 Barbara Street in South Yarmouth. A law enforcement walk-by is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. that day.

A funeral Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 18 at St. Pius X.
