Walgreens To Administer COVID-19 Vaccines In Maine

February 25, 2021

In the state of Maine, there will be a new location for coronavirus vaccines soon:  Walgreens.

The state’s federal Centers for Disease Control director announced on Tuesday that more than 40 Walgreens locations across the state will administer the vaccine.

”The supply that’s being used by Walmart now, and soon Walgreens, is distinct from and separate from the other supply that comes into the state that is allocated by Maine CDC and DHHS. That vaccine that is going to Walmart and Walgreens comes from a separate federal supply,” the state’s CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah told WABI on Tuesday, February 23.

Frontline workers and people over 70 are eligible for the vaccine in Maine.
