Yarmouth Police Officer Shot To Death While Serving Warrant

Yarmouth Patrolman Sean Gannon was shot and killed at a home in Marstons Mills while attempting to serve a warrant, police said.

Gannon, 32, was the Cape Cod town’s K9 officer. He had served in Yarmouth for about nine years, according to The Cape Cod Times.

He was shot in the head while going into the attic of a home to pursue a suspect, according to The Boston Globe.

Gannon was married, the Yarmouth police chief said during a press conference Thursday afternoon, according to The Cape Cod Times.

The incident occurred about 3:30 p.m. Thursday at 109 Blueberry Lane in Marstons Mills.

Thomas Latanowich, 29, with a last known address of Somerville, will be charged with murdering Gannon, according to WCVB-TV Channel 5.
