Your Kids Are In Danger – What Schools Don’t Want Parents To Know
Kyle S. Reyes | October 9, 2017
Last week, I had a speaking engagement at a college in Connecticut. It’s a private school, so it doesn’t fall under any kind of state law prohibiting concealed-carry among visitors to the campus.
Out of curiosity, one of my employees checked the college’s website. The school proudly declares in fine print that they’re protecting students by having a gun-free policy.
Hmmm. What exactly does that mean when it comes to state law? We made a few calls to make sure I wouldn’t be arrested and charged with a felony if I were caught carrying.
We were informed by local police that the school’s policy is so ridiculous that off-duty officers aren’t even allowed to carry on campus.
Still, all the college could do, if someone were found to be carrying, would be to ask the armed person to leave the school’s property. Seems like a small price to pay for a measure of safety in a small pond of sitting ducks.
So let me get this straight: Off-duty cops and even combat veterans taking courses at this college (and some others) aren’t allowed to carry guns if they’re licensed to do so.
And somehow this makes sense to people?
When did a criminal ever see a sign that says “Gun-Free Zone” and say “Oh, crap – I’d better go lock this in the car and come back and stab someone with a plastic butter knife”?
Um – never.
Stupid. There’s no other way of putting it. This liberal logic is just flat-out stupid.
But it gets worse.
Let’s look, for example, at schools such as Smith, Mount Holyoke, and Hampshire College in Massachusetts.
Did you know that their police departments are unarmed?
That’s right. The campus police are special state officers and yet they’re not allowed to carry anything more than batons.
Oh, did I forget to mention that this “impenetrable zone of stupidity” includes an elementary school on one of the campuses?
So if a kid is stabbing another kid … or, God forbid, someone came onto campus shooting … campus police would have to call the municipal police department and wait for them to respond.
You know what that means? An increased likelihood that your child will die.
I’m so sick and tired of seeing people like Connecticut U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy stand on the graves of dead children like we saw after the Newtown tragedy and declare that they want to keep your kids safe.
They obviously don’t.
If they did, they’d be encouraging putting armed guards in schools. Allowing highly trained police officers and combat vets to carry. Trying to eliminate “gun-free” zones.
Instead, liberal logic has dictated that we should hope criminals care about liberal signs and liberal laws. Liberals are passing feel-good legislation designed to fool you into thinking they’re addressing a problem when they’re doing no such thing.
Man – if only we made murder illegal. That would solve it all, right?
It’s time to wake up. We’re not making schools safer for our children. We’re turning them into target practice and removing any way we have of protecting them in an active shooter situation.
Your kids … your teens … your young adults … are not safe. And you have liberal logic to thank for that.
How can we fix it before it’s too late?
