Kennedy seeks third term in Congress

BOSTON – Joseph P. Kennedy III, the last of his storied family to serve in Congress, is running for a third term.

The Brookline Democrat confirmed Thursday his intentions to seek a third term in the U.S. House of Representatives, in an interview with the Attleboro Sun Chronicle.

“I’m excited about the work,” Kennedy told the newspaper. His father, Joseph P. Kennedy II, previously served in Congress, as did many other members of the clan.

Kennedy, the grandson of the late Robert F. Kennedy, ran unopposed in 2014 after first winning the seat in 2012.
