Where does Massachusetts Republican state committeewoman Lindsay Valanzola live?

She is the Republican state committeewoman for the Worcester, Hampden, Hampshire & Middlesex state Senate district, and says that she lives in Wales, which is in the district. Wales is a town of about 1,800 in south central Massachusetts that borders Connecticut.

However, it’s a claim that the Massachusetts Republican Party is investigating because some party officials have suggested that she may, in fact, live in Nashville, Tennessee.

For example, Nashville is where her LinkedIn account says she lives. It says that she is a business manager for Dell-EMC in Nashville, Tennessee — the city that’s also listed as her location on the web site.

She appears to have a residence in Nashville. NewBostonPost used a premium Whitepages account to perform an online search that showed that her current residence is an apartment in Nashville, Tennessee; the apartment is part of the Broadstone Stockyards complex in the city. There was a previous location listed in Wales, Massachusetts, but Whitepages says that it’s not her current address.

She appears to spend a lot of time in Nashville.

In February 2018, she participated in the Predators Fangtastic 5k run in Nashville, according to the race web site, completing the race in 1:01:31.7.

She also served as a bridesmaid in a Nashville wedding earlier this year.

A web site that was active earlier this year called thedawsons2021.com mentioned the wedding. Of Valanzola, it said, “Linds, my first Nashville BFF! We met on Broadway a few weeks after I moved here and the rest is history. Lindsay is for sure my sassiest friend and you can find her fighting about sports with Jordan at the bar taking shots of fireball.”

Valanzola posted about living in Nashville on her private Instagram account after a tornado struck Nashville.

“Today is bittersweet,” Valanzola wrote. “I’ve called Nashville home for just over two years. I’ve lived in the same apartment the whole time. She had pros and cons but for most importantly she holds all my memories. Two weeks ago a tornado ripped through this city I love taking part of my neighborhood and my apartment with it. I found a new home (a block and a half because I [heart] G-Town). I’ve had amazing friends help me every step of the way. 567 will always be number one in my heart. Here’s to new beginnings! #RIP567 #newhome #TLDR #friendsarefamily #germantownnashville #stillgonnaberegulars.”

NewBostonPost also confirmed using Whitepages that Valanzola’s previous apartment in Nasvhille was Number 567.

The image of the Instagram post does not show a date. But a tornado hit Nashville on March 2 and March 3, 2020, doing heavy damage to portions of the city, including a neighborhood known as Germantown.

Valanzola was re-elected to the Massachusetts Republican State Committee on March 3, 2020. The ballot listed her address as 68 McBride Road in Wales. That’s 1,044.2 miles by car from her Nashville address.

Valanzola is regarded as an ally of the Charlie Baker faction of the MassGOP, which is often at odds with the more conservative faction led by party chairman Jim Lyons, who won a narrow re-election victory for a second two-year term this past January.

Baker endorsed Valanzola for state committee in 2016 over Ronna Prunier, who ran on being pro-life, pro-gun, and opposed to Common Core. In 2018, Valanzola endorsed anti-Trump Republican John Kingston for U.S. Senate over Geoff Diehl and Beth Lindstrom.

Questions about Valanzola’s residency came into the news after a Wednesday morning report from Politico noted that the Massachusetts Republican Party is investigating whether certain members of the state committee are violating its bylaws by representing districts where they do not live.

Massachusetts Republican Party communications director Evan Lips sent NewBostonPost a comment on the matter.

“The matter has been referred to a special committee, after a committee member raised concerns,” Lips wrote in an email message on Wednesday. “The special committee has been assigned to investigate the issue and to deliver its findings within 60 days via a written report.”

Valanzola could not be reached for comment on Wednesday.

However, in an interview with Politico, she said that she travels to Nashville, Tennessee frequently for work.

“It’s disheartening someone is going to take that and call into question my residency simply for a witch hunt,” Valanzola told Politico.
