Joe Biden Proclaims Easter ‘Transgender Day of Visibility’

President Joe Biden has proclaimed Easter Sunday “Transgender Day of Visibility, 2024.”

Biden’s proclamation doesn’t mention Easter, but declares Sunday, March 31, 2024 to be Transgender Day of Visibility.

This year that’s Easter Sunday, which for Christians commemorates the resurrection from the dead of Jesus of Nazareth, whom Christians worship as God.

Biden issued the proclamation on Friday, March 29 – which was Good Friday.

“On Transgender Day of Visibility, we honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and reaffirm our Nation’s commitment to forming a more perfect Union — where all people are created equal and treated equally throughout their lives,” Biden’s proclamation states.

It continues:  “I am proud that my Administration has stood for justice from the start, working to ensure that the LGBTQI+ community can live openly, in safety, with dignity and respect.  I am proud to have appointed transgender leaders to my Administration and to have ended the ban on transgender Americans serving openly in our military.  I am proud to have signed historic Executive Orders that strengthen civil rights protections in housing, employment, health care, education, the justice system, and more.”

The proclamation criticizes what it calls “hateful laws” passed by certain state legislatures banning gender transitioning for minors, which it calls “extreme” and “un-American.” The proclamation also decries what it calls “silencing teachers” and “banning books.”

A spokesman for the campaign of former president and likely Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump issued a statement on Saturday, March 30 calling Biden’s proclamation “appalling and insulting” and also criticizing the White House for prohibiting religious symbols on Easter eggs for the White House’s annual Easter Egg Roll.

“Sadly, these are just two more examples of the Biden Administration’s years-long assault on the Christian faith. We call on Joe Biden’s failing campaign and White House to issue an apology to the millions of Catholics and Christians across America who believe tomorrow is for one celebration only — the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” said Karoline Leavitt, national press secretary for the Trump campaign, in a written statement.

New Boston Post has published in full the text of President Biden’s proclamation of Transgender Day of Visibility and has also published in full images of the four-page flier in which children submitting Easter eggs for the White House’s annual Easter Egg Roll were instructed not to use “religious symbols” or “overtly religious themes.”
