Alex Morse Chosen As New Provincetown Town Manager

February 26, 2021

Holyoke Mayor Alex Morse could have a new job soon.

Morse, who unsuccessfully primaried U.S. Representative Richard Neal (D-Springfield) last year, won’t seek another term as mayor of Holyoke this year. He may have a new job soon — out on Cape Cod.

On Thursday evening, the board of selectmen in Provincetown unanimously approved Morse, who is openly homosexual, to become the new town manager.

“I’m excited about the opportunity in Provincetown,” Morse told 22 News Springfield. “It would be an honor to take my experience and skills to a community that is a special place to me. I have always believed in the power of local government, and this potential transition would be an exciting and purposeful extension of my life’s work.”
