Amtrak Downeaster Service To Resume Next Week Between Maine and Boston

June 13, 2020

Amtrak’s Downeaster is ready to resume service between Brunswick, Maine and Boston, Massachusetts after nearly two months of no service.

Starting on June 15, there will be one round trip on weekdays between the two stops, according to the Penobscot Bay Pilot.

The last time anyone was able to do that was April 12.

The train will be limited to 50 percent capacity to make sure that social distancing is able to take place. Riders will have to pay ahead of time; cash will not be accepted.

The Penobscot Bay Pilot reports that it is expected that the Downeaster will have more frequent service in the coming months.
