Andrew Lelling Doesn’t Expect Rachael Rollins To Be A Radical U.S. Attorney

July 28, 2021

Andrew Lelling served as the U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts when Donald Trump was president of the United States.

However, the Republican isn’t worried that a progressive like Suffolk County district attorney Rachael Rollins will run the office in hard-left fashion now that President Joe Biden nominated her to replace him.

“Some people are expecting this massive change right out of the box — but you’re not going to see that,” Lelling told The Boston Herald.

“Ninety-five percent of the stuff that prosecutorial offices do is uncontroversial,” he later added. “Changes are in the margins.”

Rollins is expected to be confirmed to the post given that the Democratic Party has a practical control of the U.S. Senate, thanks to the vice president serving as a potential tiebreaker in the evenly divided chamber.
