Andrew Yang Endorses Lynch Primary Challenger

May 27, 2020

If Andrew Yang has it his way, U.S. Representative Stephen Lynch will not be representing Massachusetts’s Eighth Congressional District next year.

The former Democratic presidential candidate, best known for his universal basic income proposal, gave the thumbs up to Dr. Robbie Goldstein, the only person still running against Lynch (D-South Boston) in the Democratic primary on September 1.

Goldstein works as an infectious disease specialist and primary care doctor at Massachusetts General Hospital. He primarying Lynch from his left, according to Boston.com.

“He’s an infectious disease specialist with a PhD!” Yang said in a statement. “If we had more doctors in Congress, our policies would reflect science and facts.”

The Eighth Congressional District resembles a neck with two horse heads sprouting from it looking left and right. It goes as far north as the North End of Boston, as far west as Walpole, as far east as Hull and Weymouth, and as far south as Raynham. It includes the city of Quincy and the city of Brockton.

In the city of Boston, the district includes South Boston, large portions of Dorchester, the North End, Beacon Hill, the Back Bay, Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury, and Roslindale.
