Ayanna Pressley Ties Student Loan Debt Forgiveness To Anti-Racism

Do you support student loan debt cancellation and if not, does that make you a racist?

Perhaps so, says U.S. Representative Ayanna Pressley (D-Dorchester).

Pressley, who supports student loan forgiveness, tweeted on Monday, “You can’t be anti-racist if you’re anti student debt cancellation.”

The web site EducationData.org notes that whites hold about 54 percent of student loan debt in the country. Additionally, it says that, “Black and African American college graduates owe an average of $25,000 more in student loan debt than White college graduates.”

President Joe Biden ran on cancelling $10,000 in student loan debt per person, but progressives want him to forgive $50,000 apiece.
