Bernie Sanders Blasts United States Over Lack Of Guaranteed Paid Sick Time

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) is not happy with the way that paid sick leave is handled in the United States.

Sanders ripped the country’s lack of guaranteed paid sick leave on Twitter recently.

“The United States, sadly, is the only major country on Earth that doesn’t guarantee paid sick days,” Sanders tweeted. “Pathetic. In a modern civilized society, it should be a no-brainer that if you or your family gets sick, you should have paid sick leave. End of discussion.”

As Sanders points out, the United States is the only developed country that does not guarantee any paid sick time to its workers, according to the Center for Economic Police and Research.
