Bernie Sanders Supports Cutting Foreign Aid To Israel If Israel Annexes Parts of West Bank

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders might be in favor of cutting foreign military aid to Israel.

The democratic socialist signed on to a public letter drawn up by U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York). The premise:  that the United States either limit or withhold military aid to Israel if the country goes through with its plan to annex parts of the West Bank in Palestine, according to The Times of Israel.

Israel receives $3.8 billion in military aid from the United States annually. 

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (known as AIPAC) condemned the legislators’ request, tweeting that it, “explicitly threatens the US-Israel relationship in ways that would damage American interests, risk the security of Israel & make a two-state solution less likely.”
