Bernie Sanders Won’t Endorse Marianne Williamson

March 13, 2023

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) is riding with Biden.

The self-described democratic socialist will not endorse best-selling author Marianne Williamson, a progressive Democrat, in the 2024 presidential primary.

That’s because Sanders supports President Joe Biden, assuming the sitting president seeks re-election.

However, Sanders said that he thinks Williamson’s primary challenge serves a purpose.

“I know Marianne,” Sanders said, according to Yahoo. “I’m sure she’s going to run a strong campaign and raise very important issues.”

Sanders unsuccessfully sought the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in 2016 and 2020.

Sanders and Williamson were both candidates in the 2020 Democratic primary. However, Williamson dropped out before the Iowa caucuses.
