Boston Red Sox Finish Season In Last Place

The Boston Red Sox were a last-place team this season.

The Red Sox season ended Wednesday, October 5. The Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays 6-3 in their season finale. With the win, the Red Sox improved to 78-84 on the season. That put the Sox in last place among the five American League East teams, according to MLB.com.

The New York Yankees came in first place in the division, with a 99-63 regular season record, the Red Sox finished 21 games behind the AL East’s top performer.

The Red Sox also finished behind the Toronto Blue Jays (92-70), Tampa Bay Rays (86-76), and the Baltimore Orioles (83-79).
