Boston Red Sox Lose Four In A Row

August 2, 2021

It has not been a good stretch of baseball for the Boston Red Sox as of late.

As of Monday, August 2, the team had lost four straight games. They got swept by the Tampa Bay Rays and took a 13-1 beating against the Toronto Blue Jays in the game before that.

As a result, the Red Sox fell out of first place. The team is 63-44 this season — 1.5 games behind the Tampa Bay Rays.

Additionally, the New York Yankees have gained some ground in the standings. The Yankees are now seven games out of first place, putting them 5.5 games behind the Red Sox for second place.
