Bourne Republican School Committee Member To Run For Massachusetts Senate Again

December 7, 2023

Kari Macrae, a Bourne School Committee member, will run for Massachusetts Senate in the Plymouth and Barnstable District once again next year, according to Politico.

Macrae is running to replace state Senator Susan Moran (D-Falmouth), who won’t seek re-election as she pursues a county court job.

Moran beat Macrae 56 percent to 44 percent in 2022.

Macrae received widespread media attention in October 2021 after Hanover High School fired her over her conservative TikTok posts in which she expressed opposition to transgenderism and the Black Lives Matter movement.

On the Democratic side, state Representative Dylan Fernandes (D-Falmouth) is also pursuing the post. In addition, state Representative Matt Muratore (R-Plymouth), a socially liberal Republican, is also considering a bid.

New to NewBostonPost? Conservative media is hard to find in Massachusetts. But you’ve found it. Now dip your toe in the water for two bucks — $2 for two months. And join the real revolution.
