Burlington, Vermont Implements Mask Mandate

December 3, 2021

An indoor mask mandate is back in place in Burlington, Vermont.

Earlier this week, the city council unanimously approved an indoor mask mandate in certain settings like retail shops and theaters. It also calls for the same in restaurants, bars, and gyms, unless someone has proof that he’s vaccinated against coronavirus. These rules don’t apply to churches and schools.

During the meeting, the councilors noted that most of the spread is occurring in small private gatherings, but they did not mandate masks there, according to WCAX.

The rule will be in effect for at least 30 days. After 30 days, the councilors plan to meet again to reconsider the rule.

This mask mandate does not apply to outdoor spaces.
