Cambridge To Feature Warning Labels On Gas Pumps Due To Climate Change

The city of Cambridge will soon having a warning for you:  on gas pumps.

By the end of this month, gas pumps in the city will feature a label that reads: “Warning: Burning Gasoline, Diesel and Ethanol has major consequences on human health and on the environment including contributing to climate change,” as Car and Driver reports.

The move makes Cambridge the first Massachusetts municipality to put a warning label on gas pumps. It’s unclear if any other communities in the Bay State plan on following suit.

Officials of the city of Berkeley, California reportedly floated the idea of having a similar label on their gas pumps in 2014 but never went through with it.
