Cape Cod Baseball League Starts Sunday, June 20

June 14, 2021

The Cape Cod Baseball League’s schedule shows that the first games of the week are set to take place on Sunday, June 20, 2021, kicking off the league’s first season since 2019. There was no 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The league primarily consists of Division 1 college baseball players, many of whom get drafted by Major League Baseball teams when they are older. Examples of past and present Boston Red Sox players who played in the Cape league over the years include Dustin Pedroia, Jacoby Ellsbury, and Chris Sale.

There are 10 teams in the league; nine of them play on Cape Cod. The one exception is the Wareham Gatemen. The Gatemen play at Wareham High School.

The Cape Cod Baseball League is widely considered the premier summertime showcase for college baseball players.
