Central Massachusetts Island Up For Temporary Rentals

If you’ve ever wanted to rent a private island in Massachusetts, now is your chance. A listing on Airbnb in Douglas, Massachusetts is labeled as “Private Island Retreat In State Forest,” as MassLive.com reports.

The rental is for Dodd Island. It includes two cottages, and five beds in total — with a maximum capacity of eight guests. The island has TV, running water, and electricity, but no WiFi or flush toilet.

The island is accessible by water travel and is about 400 feet away from the shore.

According to Airbnb’s web site, the listing must be rented for a minimum of seven days at a time and lists for, as of Saturday, June 27, $251 per night before taxes and fees.

Douglas is a town of about 8.500 about 15 miles south of Worcester. It borders both Rhode Island and Connecticut.
