Charlie Baker Hints There Could Be Fans At Pro Sports Games Soon

Could there be fans at professional sporting events in Massachusetts this year?

It’s a question a reporter asked Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker during a press conference on Tuesday, February 23. Baker hinted at the possibility, as NESN points out.

“Stay tuned,” Baker said.

Two of the closest states with major professional sports teams have already allowed fans to attend games:  New York and New Jersey.

The NBA team the Brooklyn Nets, for example, plan to host 300 fans indoors at their game next Tuesday against the Sacramento Kings. Additionally, also on Tuesday, March 2, the NHL team the New Jersey Devils plans to allow 10 percent capacity — about 1,650 fans at the game.
