Charlie Baker Says GOP Should Move On From Trump

November 16, 2022

Massachusetts lame-duck governor Charlie Baker has a request for the Republican Party:  move on from former President Donald Trump.

Baker, who says he did not vote for Trump in either the 2016 or 2020 presidential elections, told CNN in a recent sit-down interview that he would like to see the party move in a different direction.

“We need, as a party, to move past President Trump and to move on to an agenda that represents the voices of all those in the party and the people of the country,” Baker told CNN’s Jake Tapper.

Trump is announced on Tuesday night that he is running for president in the 2024 election.
