Charlie Baker Says No To More Coronavirus Restrictions

July 23, 2021

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker says the days of more coronavirus restrictions in the state are behind us.

Baker told the media this week that he has no interest in going back and having more restrictions on daily life to combat the pandemic.

“We’re not looking at changing any of our existing rules or policies,” Baker told CBS Boston.

“The vaccines are overwhelmingly effective,” he later added. “If you look at the number of people that have been hospitalized who’ve been vaccinated, it’s a very small number.”

Baker, a Republican, received criticism from conservatives for putting too many restrictions on the economy amid the pandemic.
