Charlie Baker Still Popular Among Democrats

How popular is Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker?

With Democrats, the answer is very popular.

A poll released by UMass Lowell this week found that Baker gets high marks with likely Democratic primary voters. The governor has a 70 percent favorable rating with them compared to just a 19 percent unfavorable rating.

The poll did not ask Republicans and Republican-leaning voters how they felt about Baker.

Although Baker has that high level of popularity among these Democrats and Democrat-leaning voters, it didn’t transfer over to the same extent for the lieutenant governor, Karyn Polito. The poll found that while 24 percent have a favorable view of her, 18 percent don’t. The majority (60 percent) either haven’t heard of her or don’t have an opinion about her.
