Chris Sununu Critiques Charlie Baker Over Anti-Trump Statements

July 26, 2021

New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu considers both Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker friends.

They’re all Republicans from the Northeast. However, in a recent interview with NBC News, Sununu said that he thinks those two governors made political calculations to pander to residents of liberal states when they spoke out against their party’s president ,Donald Trump.

“I think Hogan and Baker went out of their way:  ‘Can I bet the first to bash former President Trump?’ ” Sununu told the news network.

Unlike those two, Sununu supported Trump. He won re-election in 2020 with more than 60 percent of the vote even as Trump lost the state.

Sununu is a possible candidate for U.S. Senate in 2022, though he has not yet announced his intentions.
