Chris Sununu Urges Caution In Attacking Kamala Harris

August 2, 2024

New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu says he wants Republicans to focus on policy when criticizing Kamala Harris, not her racial identity or sex.

“Personal attacks don’t get a single new vote, and that’s what yesterday was,” Sununu told ABC’s The View on Thursday, August 1. “They don’t get a single new independent voter to say, ‘Oh, you know? What I’m going to vote that way.’ On both sides, but Trump is especially just so bombastic, so outrageous, and people say, ‘Oh, I would never vote for him.’ I don’t need to tell anyone to vote for Trump. Vote for who you want to vote for.”

Sununu’s comments came after Trump spoke about Harris’s biracial identity, claiming that she switched races.

“I didn’t know she was black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn black and now she wants to be known as black,” Trump said during a National Association of Black Journalists event on Wednesday. “So, I don’t know, is she Indian or is she black?”
