Chris Sununu Wants Alex Cora Fired

New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu thinks the Boston Red Sox need to fire manager Alex Cora.

At 53-53 on the season as of Thursday morning, August 4, the Red Sox were in last place in the American League East.

And Sununu, a Republican, thinks part of the solution to the team’s woes is firing Cora.

“I think it starts at the top. I think Cora’s got to go. I do,” Sununu said on WEEI this week. “I personally just don’t like the way he’s using pitchers. There’s no motivation on that team. There’s a morale problem on that team. If you have a morale problem, you’ve got to start the top. You just do.”

Cora is in his fourth season as the team’s manager.

Sununu is seeking a fourth two-year term as governor of New Hampshire.
