Deval Patrick Receives Same Vote Share In Kentucky Democratic Primary As He Did In New Hampshire

June 25, 2020

Former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick won’t be elected president of the United States this year, but some people in Kentucky made it clear they wish he were still a candidate this week.

Patrick dropped out of the Democratic presidential primary February 12 after a lackluster showing in New Hampshire, where he received 0.4 percent of the vote. More than four months later — without doing any campaigning — he got the same vote percentage in Kentucky’s Democratic Primary.

In total, 223 people voted for Patrick — good for a 10th place finish with 0.4 percent of the vote, according to the New York Times.

Former Vice President Joe Biden won the primary with 57.1 percent of the vote. Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee, is the only candidate left in the race.
