Dropkick Murphys Play St. Patrick’s Day Show To Nearly Empty Studio – But Millions Online

The Dropkick Murphys replaced a House of Blues gig in Boston on St. Patrick’s Day for a nearly silent studio in Derry, New Hampshire.

The Irish-American punk-Irish musicians streamed a live concert free of charge on Tuesday, March 17.

The show had 7.3 million views on Facebook Live as of 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 18.

The concert changed venues because of the ban on large gatherings due to the coronavirus.

The Boston-based Dropkick Murphys are best known for the accordion-heavy “Shipping Up To Boston.”

The Union Leader interviewed the owner of the New Hampshire studio where the live concert took place, who is scrambling to replace lost business in the face of coronavirus shutdowns.
