Ed Markey Launches A Podcast

If you have ever dreamt about listening to a podcast hosted by U.S. Senator Ed Markey (D-Malden), then today is your lucky day.

That’s because the junior Senator from Massachusetts has launched The Ed Markey Podcast.

Every Friday until Earth Day in April (April 22), Markey plans to release a new episode featuring environmentalists — be it politicians or activists, according to a press release from his office.

“I love hosting podcasts, and I love the Green New Deal,” Markey said in the written statement.

Though Markey supports the Green New Deal, it is highly unlikely to become law. Supporters have never articulated how they would pay for the bill or offset immense job lost from cratering the fossil fuel industry over a short span. Additionally, President Joe Biden opposes the proposal, as do many other Democrats.
