Ed Markey Still Wants To Expand U.S. Supreme Court

U.S. Senator Ed Markey (D-Malden) still wants to expand the federal Supreme Court.

Markey put out a tweet vouching support for this idea once again. 

“Just four months ago, we witnessed a series of decisions that show the extreme lengths to which this right-wing Court is willing to go,” Markey wrote Monday, October 3. “Now, it’s back in session. Read more about the urgent need to Expand the Court and protect our rights here:  markey.senate.gov/expandthecourt.

Markey wants to expand the court from nine justices to 13 justices. He wants the Democrats to add four more justices to the court so their picks outnumber Republicans seven to six.

The current Republican-nominated majority is six to three, with one of those GOP nominees, chief justice John Roberts, playing a seesaw role on the court.
