Elizabeth Warren Compares Student Debt Cancellation To Tax Cuts
September 19, 2022
U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Cambridge) supports student loan debt cancellation.
She took to Twitter to justify President Joe Biden’s decision to cancel up to $10,000 of student loan debt ($20,000 for Pell Grant recipients) for those making up to $125,000 per year.
She compared it to tax cuts when making the argument for it.
“Congressional Republicans don’t bat an eye at huge tax breaks for billionaires & giant corporations,” Warren tweeted Friday, September 16. “But student debt cancellation for working people sends them to their fainting couches. Democrats fight for a country that works for everyone, not just the rich and powerful.”
