Elizabeth Warren Won’t Endorse Kamala Harris For Re-Election Yet

February 1, 2023

U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Cambridge) wants to see President Joe Biden seek re-election.

But what about Biden’s vice president, Kamala Harris?

Although Warren supports Biden seeking re-election, she stopped short of endorsing Harris for re-election in a recent interview with GBH News.

“I really want to defer to what makes Biden comfortable on his team,” Warren said during the interview. “I’ve known Kamala for a long time. I like Kamala. I knew her back when she was an attorney general and I was still teaching and we worked on the housing crisis together, so we go way back. But they need — they have to be a team, and my sense is they are — I don’t mean that by suggesting I think there are any problems. I think they are.”

It’s unclear who Biden would choose as his running mate if he were to pick someone other than Harris.
