Emmanuel Dockter To Run For State Representative Again Against GOP Incumbent David DeCoste on South Shore

September 27, 2021

A former Hanover selectman has announced his intention to challenge state Representative David DeCoste (R-Norwell) once again next year.

Democrat Emmanuel Dockter, who lost to DeCoste in 2020, had announced he plans to run for state representative in the Fifth Plymouth district once again.

“The only way forward is together,” Dockter tweeted on Friday, September 24. “I ran for State Rep to push back against the divisiveness tearing us apart, and it’s only gotten worse. I’m excited to let you know: I will be running again for Hanover, Norwell, and Rockland in 2022! ”

In the 2020 election, DeCoste got 50.7 percent of the vote and Dockter got 49.3 percent.

Although redistricting may change the composition of the district, it currently includes all of Norwell, Rockland, and Hanover.
