Many coronavirus cases in the United States can be traced back to a Biogen conference that took place in Boston last February, but just how many?

It’s likely that the one conference alone resulted in 20,000 coronavirus cases, according to a report cited by NBC Boston. If so, that means that one event was also responsible for many deaths in the country.

“It speaks to the power of that virus to move from one person to another to another to another, if people wear masks, don’t social distance, don’t take seriously the fact that the fundamental strength of COVID-19 its ability to get from one person to the next,” Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker said during a coronavirus press conference Tuesday, August 25.
