Former Charlie Baker Administration Official Running For Congress As A Democrat

July 12, 2021

Ben Samuels worked in Governor Charlie Baker’s administration. Now he’s running for Congress in Missouri — as a Democrat.

The 30-year-old worked as the director of special projects in the Baker administration. However, now he wants to challenge incumbent U.S. Representative Ann Wagner (R-Missouri) in the state’s Second Congressional District.

“Anti-voting rights, anti-democracy, election denialism has become table stakes for the vast majority of elected Republicans, like Ann Wagner,” Samuels told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Samuels reportedly spent some of his childhood in St. Louis, but didn’t go to high school there. He just registered to vote in the state in June and has never voted in the state before.
