Former Trump Pride Director Alex Hagerty Wins Seat On Abington Board of Selectmen

April 26, 2021

Alex Hagerty won his Abington selectman race election on Saturday, April, 24.

The director of Trump PRIDE Massachusetts in the 2020 election cycle — a pro-Trump homosexuality-friendly coalition — topped the ticket in a three-way race in which there were two open seats. He received 676 votes while incumbent selectman Timothy Chapin got 625 votes, as WATD reported. They will serve on the board of selectmen this term.

The third-place candidate, Christine Henrickson, a member of the board of sewer commissioners, received 600 votes.

Hagerty put out a statement in response to his win on Saturday evening:

Abington, THANK YOU! I am honored by the overwhelming support and trust you have in me to be your voice on the Board of Selectmen! I love this town and I’m ready to get work!

Thank you to my amazing family, wonderful friends and too all the INCREDIBLE residents who joined us on our campaign. I appreciate everyone and I truly feel blessed to be in the company of FANTASTIC people! I want to also extend my congratulations to Selectman Tim Chapin on his re-election and I look forward to partner with him! To Christine Henrikson, she ran an excellent campaign and I’m proud of the leadership she brings to the town! I’m honored to call them both friends.

Monday we get to work and together we WILL achieve A Better Future, A Better Abington!
