Gun Shops At Full Capacity Again In Massachusetts

For gun shops, it’s back to normal in Massachusetts.

As MassLive.com reports, the first phase of Massachusetts’s coronavirus reopening plan, which began on Monday, May 18, puts no capacity restrictions on gun shops.

Previously, gun shops were limited to just four appointments per hour following a ruling by U.S. District Judge Douglas Woodlock. He ruled on May 7 that Massachusetts’s order to close down gun shops amid the coronavirus pandemic violated the Second Amendment.

Woodlock stated in his ruling that government officials in Massachusetts did not provide a valid reason to shut down gun shops, which he noted limits a explicitly granted in the Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution.
