Is In-Person Learning Safe In Vermont? One Expert Says Yes

Are schools safe for children and faculty?
As of November 1 in Vermont, schools had been the origin of 39 coronavirus cases so far this school year, according to state officials. Over the past week, that figure is 11 cases.
However, Dr. Rebecca Bell, president of the American Academy of Pediatrics Vermont Chapter, says that in-person learning for children is still safe.
“We continue to see that schools are not a main driver of transmission in this pandemic,” she said, according to The Associated Press. “The fact that there have been a number of cases in the K-12 learning environment that have not led to outbreaks highlights the effectiveness of the mitigation strategies we have in place here in Vermont.”
