Jake Auchincloss Endorses Maura Healey

May 17, 2022

U.S. Representative Jake Auchincloss (D-Newton) is supporting a fellow Democrat in the race for governor.

The Charlie Baker-supporting Democrat endorsed attorney general Maura Healey for governor on Tuesday morning, May 17.

“She’s campaigning to win at the kitchen table, not on Twitter,” Auchincloss told Politico.

He added that he thinks that Healey has “the same commitment and focus on economic issues that directly affect the day-to-day lives of our constituents” as Baker.

Auchincloss is the second member of Congress from Massachusetts to endorse Healey; U.S. Representative Katherine Clark (D-Revere) endorsed her over the weekend.

Healey is one of two Democrats running. The other is state Senator Sonia Chang Diaz (D-Jamaica Plain), who is running to Healey’s left.
