Jake Auchincloss Plans To Endorse In Massachusetts Governor’s Race

May 9, 2022

Will members of the Massachusetts Congressional delegation make endorsements in the state’s gubernatorial race this year?

So far, none of the 11 members (nine U.S. Representatives and two U.S. Senators) have made an endorsement. However, U.S. Representative Jake Auchincloss (D-Newton) plans to make one soon.

“You will hear from me on that soon,” Auchincloss told WPRI.

Auchincloss is a supporter of incumbent Republican governor Charlie Baker, but his endorsement will likely be of one of the two Democratic candidates running for governor:  Massachusetts attorney general Maura Healey or state Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz.

Healey is the front runner.

It’s unlikely that he would endorse either of the two Republicans running:  former state representative Geoff Diehl (R-Whitman) or Wrentham businessman Chris Doughty.
