Jake Auchincloss Takes Office In Congress

January 3, 2021 represents the start of the 117th United States Congress, and the Massachusetts delegation looks different from before.

Now, instead of Joseph P. Kennedy III (D-Newton) representing the state’s Fourth District, it is U.S. Representative Jake Auchincloss (D-Newton).

Auchincloss recently told NECN that his top priority will be the coronavirus pandemic.

“COVID is my number one priority,” he said. “My work here in district is going to be centered on expanding access to testing for K-12 public schools as well as for other areas of vulnerable populations.”

Auchincloss won a nine-way Democratic primary in September and later won the general election in November over Republican Julie Hall of Attleboro.
