Jake Auchincloss Wants To Kill The Filibuster Over Abortion

May 13, 2022

Should the filibuster exist in the United States Senate?

U.S. Representative Jake Auchincloss (D-Newton) doesn’t think so.

Auchincloss has said that he favors abolishing the filibuster and using Congress to make legal abortion the law of the land throughout the country in the wake of news that the Supreme Court will likely overturn Roe v. Wade.

“Abolish the filibuster and protect women’s fundamental right to an abortion,” Auchincloss tweeted.

Auchincloss supported the ROE Act in Massachusetts in 2020, as NewBostonPost previously reported. The law removed born-alive protections for babies born alive after an attempted abortion, eliminated parental consent for 16- and 17-year-olds seeking abortions, and legalized abortion past 24 weeks in cases of fatal fetal anomalies.

New to NewBostonPost?  Conservative media is hard to find in Massachusetts.  But you’ve found it.  Now dip your toe in the water for two bucks — $2 for two months.  And join the real revolution.
